Puppet / Mask Making
Drama Workshops

These exciting Puppet and Mask Making workshops teach children to express themselves creatively. Whether it's making puppets from recycled materials or creating masks as unique as the individual that made them, there is something for everyone.
Once the puppets or masks are made the children will be shown how to bring their unique creations to life.
The children will learn how to manipulate their puppets or breath life into their masks. They will be able to give their creation a voice and a movement unique to them. Then, combining voice and movement their new characters will come to life in a short drama piece.
Workshops can be tailored to your specific needs and are carefully structured to suit various age groups and skill levels.

- Continuing character work and developing dialogue

Once upon a time, a thousand years ago, some children acted out an exciting hero tale from a story they had heard from the tribes storyteller the night before. Creative drama has been around for a long time and although things may have changed considerably over the centuries, the benefits to children from doing creative drama are the same:
- Experience thinking creatively and independently.
- Practice in strongly motivated social cooperation.
- Develop an understanding of people who have a different viewpoint from themselves.
- Controlled emotional release
- Experience in thinking on one's feet.
- Expressing ideas clearly and fearlessly.
When a story is put into dramatic form, the play is planned by the group, and then played with spontaneous action and dialogue.
